Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is the treatment of mental health disorders and is also known as “talk therapy”. Psychotherapy utilizes many modalities and interventions and often takes place over a period of time. Therapeutic rapport is essential when participating in psychotherapy. Both patient and therapist need to be active in the process and establishing trust is essential in controlling or eliminating the presenting problem.
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Psychodynamic psychotherapy therapy according to the American Psychiatric Association is based on the idea that behavior and mental well-being are influenced by childhood experiences and inappropriate repetitive thoughts or feelings that are unconscious (outside of the person’s awareness). A patient works with the therapist to improve self-awareness and to change old patterns so he/she can more fully take charge of his/her life.

Modern Wellness is a private pay practice. While we do contract with some insurance companies, the ability to accept your insurance depends on the provider you see. We currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Tricare, and Compsych. During your consultation please inform us if you are requesting to use your mental health benefits. The cost per session also varies on the provider you see. On average, the cost per session is $125-$175 on a sliding fee scale per 55-60 minute session. If your provider does not accept your insurance, our office can provide you a superbill for submission to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement with your Out of Network benefits.
What Patients & Providers Are Saying…
“Heather is a highly skilled clinician who provides care for her patients with both ethics and empathy…”
Heather is a highly skilled clinician who provides care for her patients with both ethics and empathy. She has exceptional knowledge about supporting patients with a wide range of behavioral health needs and responding to them with professionalism, kindness, and collaboration. I often confer with her for ethical dilemmas or to confirm next steps for best practice. I am honored to call her a colleague and safe place for referring clients.

“Heather Brosseau…allows me to feel confident that treatment goals will be met…”
I am a big believer in the strategy of medication management and conjoining therapy but I also believe that it requires a therapist who is compassionate but also insightful enough to guide the clients appropriately. Heather Brosseau fills that capacity brilliantly and allows me to feel confident that treatment goals will be met.
